I have been in the military for 24 years. I am a senior logistician, I have been to many schools and training exercises, I have also been deployed for 14 months to Kuwait. I have been battling lower back issues for many years, I also have been diagnosed with severe lung issues that require regular Drs. visits and the use of 2 inhalers a day. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago, which I was able to beat.  

I started CrossFit 2 years ago and I was skeptical because I thought my body couldn’t handle that level of workout. My back was so bad that I would literally throughout my back every other week. I started with the determination that if I didn’t do something, I would continue to weaken. On top of CrossFit, which made me feel much better and stronger, I decided I needed some extra help with trying to find the root cause of the problem. I started meeting with Casey for physical therapy to see about making my back even stronger and helping with a more indepth strength program for my lower back. Now I am at the point where my lower back does not flare up as often as it did. I still have back problems, but they are much better, and I know how to work through some of the back issues I encounter.  

In addition, the physical therapy helps me to understand how my body works and how one movement or exercise can affect so many other things in our bodies. I have learned a lot about body mechanics, proper posture, proper positioning and the importance of stretching and strength training.
